The countdown for Christmas 2007 is on and this year we invite you to share in an out of this world experience at The Mermaid’s “Party at the end of the Universe”.

The settings, both space age and spacious, boldly go far beyond our universally popular riverside vista to glimpse the heavens above.
On arrival, guests ascend the glittering star clothed stairwell to the light fantastic launch pad of the River Room.
Christmas trees from galaxies far away punctuate meeting and greeting areas while rope lights define comfort zones.
Overhead, mirrored luminescent shapes span the dance floor and traverse ceiling with sweeping suggestions of the Milky Way.
Light boxes, like windows to another world, emanate atmosphere and lead guests upwards on our “stairway to heaven” via plasma screens and space projections to emerge at the main event.
The Blackfriars Room, our fabulous planet suite, is where dinner is spectacularly served – this is Christmas, but not as we know it!
Projections and reflections animate and illuminate a sequence of suspended orbs, representing the planets and defining each party area.
Above, the ceiling appears to have been peeled away revealing vast portals to the stars, where space ship chandeliers travel through the floating flotsam and jetsam of the festive season to produce a multitude of movement and colour around the enthralling room.
